You may have a loved property overseas and would like to have a paining of it hanging on your walls at home; you'd like a painting of your home to commemorate a special occasion or just because you love it. There may be a precious memory of a place which means a lot to you.
Clients have commissioned paintings of their own homes and gardens, their holiday homes, locations of special sentimental value, wedding locations or anniversary celebrations.
Over the years Ilana has painted many commissions, for multi-national companies, Oxford colleges, and many, many private clients.
Commercial commissions include the vineyards of Taylor's Port in Portugal and the Carmignano and Selvapiana wine estates in Tuscany as well as Macdonald's.

How does it work?
When preparing for a commission, Ilana will discuss in detail with the client the location, themes, composition and any specific requirements. She will travel to the location to explore the best views, compositions and lighting to reflect the subject in the best way and get all reference material. The final paintings will be done at her studio.
Occasionally travel is not practical or cost-effective. Ilana may in cases like this use photographs provided by the client, and ideally guidance will be given as to how to take these pictures. The quality of the photographs, the lighting and composition will be vital to the quality of the painting.
The cost of commissioned paintings depends on the amount of preparation and advance research, travel and other costs, and of course the painting itself. This will be discussed in detail in advance.
